If you are interested in a career in medicine or other health science fields, and want to present an academically strong application to the professional school of your choice, we recommend an interdisciplinary biology-chemistry major. A robust education in both biology and chemistry will give you greater breadth, and therefore more options, as you enter post undergraduate education and the scientific workforce.

The biology and chemistry major includes seven courses in each discipline, which you will select in consultation with your faculty advisor. The health science workforce increasing demands workers with a fundamental knowledge and superior laboratory skills in both biology and chemistry.
