The Coordinated Program in Dietetics is designed to provide for the achievement of knowledge and performance requirements for entry-level dietitians through the integration of didactic instruction with a minimum of 1200 hours of supervised practice. The 1200 hours of field experience are divided between community, clinical, food service management and specialty rotation sites. Dominican University's CPD program includes an emphasis on cultural competencies particularly addressing child nutrition. This program satisfies didactic undergraduate work for a bachelor's in science while also fulfilling the supervised practice requirements to sit for the examination for registered dietitians administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
