Computer science internships offer valuable opportunities for computer science majors to gain experience, make contacts in the field and apply classroom concepts to real-world situations.

Dominican students complete internships in a wide variety of computer science areas. Some students have worked in software development, web development or database administration. Others have had IT-related internships working with networks, servers and IT management.

Most students start their internships in the summer and continue working on them during the academic year. Some students work at two internships, one each in their junior and senior years.

More than half of computer science interns at Dominican receive job offers from the companies where they did their internship. This includes part-time work for continuing students and full-time work for graduating seniors.

We encourage all students to explore internship opportunities by attending job and career fairs starting no later than the second semester of sophomore year.
