Internships
When it comes to gaining a real-world understanding of careers in the field, nothing beats an internship. Political science majors are not required to complete internships, but the department strongly encourages students to explore all opportunities open to them.
The department has a strong relationship with the Washington Internship Institute in Washington, D.C. Additional organizations where Dominican political science students have interned include:
- Cook County Juvenile Courts
- Oak Park Police Department
- Office of the Illinois Attorney General
- U.S. Department of State
- U.S. Department of Justice
