Transfer Student Orientation, Advising & Registration (SOAR)
Welcome to Dominican University! To help you prepare for your future at Dominican, we have created a special session of the Student Orientation, Advising & Registration (SOAR) program to assist in your transition as a new student.
At your orientation, you will learn about the academic expectations of the university, register for your classes, discover opportunities for student involvement, find out about services and resources, and meet other Dominican students.
Please be advised that your attendance is required, space is limited and registrations may close before the deadline. Please make your arrangements to attend the entire program.
You must pay your Tuition Deposit before registering for the SOAR program. If you have not paid your deposit yet, you can do so here.
Check-in is in the Shaffer Silveri Atrium in Parmer Hall at 8:30 a.m. and the SOAR program will conclude between 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. depending on the number of academic assessments required of individual students during the program. Please note, if you are required to take the Math Assessment or Modern Foreign Language Assessment you will be contacted via email by the Advising Office prior to SOAR.

- Overview of the Core Curriculum and Academic Advising
- Meet with an academic advisor and register for classes
- Meet new and current students and build community
- Learn about the many resources designed to support student success
Shortly after you reserve your place you will receive confirmation via email. Please note that space at each SOAR session is limited and a SOAR program may close before the RSVP deadline.
