DU Softball Ranked #22 on National Coaches Poll

For the first time in program history, Dominican University softball has been ranked among the top 25 Division III teams in the Coaches Poll from the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association.

Teams made the list based on nominations from regional committees. Dominican is ranked 22.

“While the program has had many successful seasons in the past, we have had some big wins against regionally and nationally ranked teams this season,” explained Head Softball Coach Cristina Lukas. “Because of this, we are getting the recognition.”

At the time of the poll, DU softball was enjoying a 15-1 record and coming off a 12-game winning streak. 

“This is a very big step for our program,” Lukas said of the ranking. “The team is very excited, but they understand that we need to focus on what we did to get here.”
