Check-in for Welcome Weekend Programs | 9 a.m.-10 a.m. - Lewis Hall, First Floor

Welcome | 10 a.m. 
President Donna M. Carroll will welcome the Class of 2019 and their families into the Dominican University community.

Dominican University Information Workshops | 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Students and their families will be able to choose from almost 40 workshops designed to provide resources and information supporting student success, and the transition to college and campus life.  A variety of workshops will be offered in both English and Spanish.  Examples of workshops being offered include:

  • Navigating Paying for College
  • A Life's Calling: Discovering Vocation at Dominican University
  • Caring for and Parenting College Students
  • We Are First, But Not Alone - 1st Generation College Students
  • Campus Safety & Security - 10 Tips to Know
  • Think About It: Healthy Relationships
  • Honors - Why?!
  • Preparing for Your global Future
  • And many, many more!!

Lunch (on your own) | 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Enjoy lunch in the Dining Hall or Cyber Café by using your meal plan or paying just $5 using cash or credit card.  You can also pre-register for lunch and pick-up your ticket at Check-in.

Class of 2019 Student & Family Reception | 5:30pm

Hosted by President Donna Carroll; join other students and families at a reception with staff and faculty at the University.

Community Breakfast | 9-10:30 a.m. - Mazzuchelli Hall, Dining Hall
We invite you to come together as a community and enjoy breakfast.  Breakfast will be served continuously during this time to accommodate those wishing to attend the Mass of the Holy Spirit, and those wishing to simply enjoy a meal with the community to close the weekend.

Mass of the Holy Spirit | 10:30 a.m. - Lund Auditorium
Families are invited to join us as we bless our new students and their families, and welcome them to the DU worshipping community.  Everyone is welcome to join us in this Eucharistic celebration.

Stepan Bookstore Open | 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Parent Orientation Program concludes. Join us for Homecoming October 2-4! 

Explore the Oak Park and River Forest area | 1 p.m. 
Take the afternoon to enjoy the Oak Park and River Forest area (on your own).

DU Fest | 3 p.m.
Students will join the Dominican University community in the Quad to kick off the new school year! The festival will include food trucks, live music and lots of free activities for the student community.

Monday, August 31

First Day of Classes
Torch Leaders will be located on the first floor of Lewis Hall and Parmer Hall to assist students in finding their classes and to answer any questions they might have.
