Research and Creativity
Mission
The mission of research and creativity is to encourage Dominican students to embrace lives of rigorous inquiry and meaningful self-expression outside the boundaries of the classroom. A new unit for the Academic Success Center (ASC), research and creativity pursues the strategic priority of Dominican University to build and support programs that foster students' creative investigations and provide them opportunities to engage in collaborative research. The office will work to foster students with creative confidence, strong habits of mind and distinct voices as authors, scholars and artists.
Dominican Research
Students have the opportunity to participate in the annual Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Investigation Exposition (URSCI Expo). The URSCI Expo gives undergraduates the opportunity to participate in research by giving oral presentations, poster presentations, or exhibiting their artwork.
In conjunction with the URSCI Expo, graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, and staff showcase global learning experiences in the Global Learning Symposium. The Symposium includes poster presentations, oral presentations, and student panels.
The Dominican University Honors Program gives high-achieving students the ability to take part in a program that both provides its students with challenging and discipline-crossing seminars and challenges them to pursue an independent research or creative project over the course of their junior and senior years.
