Degree Requirements
The Bachelor of Professional Studies in Legal Studies requires 120 credit hours in the areas of general electives, proficiency requirements, general education requirements and major requirements. To be admitted to the program, applicants must have previously completed 30 college credits or must receive a waiver (pdf) from the dean of the College of Applied Social Sciences. These 30 hours can be applied to general elective requirements.
A maximum of 90 hours in transfer credit (68 from community colleges) will be accepted.
Students may elect to declare up to two concentrations, which include: criminal justice, disability advocacy, labor relations, law and social justice, paralegal studies, public administration, and sustainability studies. Courses are conveniently offered in the evenings at Triton College or online in an accelerated 8-week format.
