A fast-paced dark comedy, THE WOLVES follows a girls’ indoor soccer team as they navigate big questions and small battles with themselves, each other, and the world.

NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! ALL ARE WELCOME!

Students do NOT need to be a Theatre Arts major or minor (or soccer player) to do shows at Dominican--please join us for a FUN and transformative experience! 

Audition Dates/Times

September 5, 6-8 p.m. — Theatre Arts Department Night!

Theatre Arts majors, minors, THEA/DUPAC student workers, and anyone interested in being part of Theatre Arts are welcome to come this night! Majors and minors should prepare their audition/portfolio for this evening. Please plan on being with us the full time (dinner provided).


September 6, 12-3 p.m. — Open Call Auditions!

NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY — stop by any time during the three hours.

If you are unable to attend but are still interested in auditioning, please email theatre@dom.edu by September 4, 2024 to arrange a different time or video submission.


September 7 12-3 p.m. — CALL BACKS!

All actors will read sides from the script; no memorization needed. Other details TBA.

Audition Material

A contemporary monologue of your choice, approx. 2 minutes long.


Character List

#11:    Midfield. Brainy, morbid, budding elitist, thoughtful. Seventeen. #11 is curious about the world and grapples with questions of morality.

#25:    Defense. Classic (ex)coach’s daughter. Seventeen. The team’s Captain, works to keep everyone in line, both physically and socially, while also making an attempt to strike out on her own with a new relationship.

#13:    Midfield. Stoner, older pot dealer brother, into her wackiness. Sixteen. #13 self-medicates with marijuana and attempts to understand the complexity of relationships.

#46:    Bench. New girl. Awkward, different, just wants to fit in. Sixteen. #46 struggles awkwardly, and often unsuccessfully, to fit in, but eventually proves that she is a worthy teammate.

#2:      Defense. Innocent, unlucky, kind, skinny. Sixteen. #2, more innocent than the other girls, has strong religious beliefs and a secret eating disorder.

#7:      Striker. Too cool for school. Sarcastic. Almost seventeen. The very cool #7 loses a bit of her cool factor when she gets injured and has to miss the last game in the season. She watches in dismay as #46 appears to usurp her position as striker.

#14:    Midfield. #7’s insecure sidekick. Sixteen. #14 tries to be as cool as her friend #7, but struggles with the pressure of sex and growing up before she is quite ready. 

#8:      Defense. Plays dumber than she is. Sixteen. #8 acts less intelligent than she is so that people will like her.

#00:    Goalie. Intense performance anxiety, perfectionist, high achiever. Seventeen. #00 copes with intense anxiety which causes her to vomit before every game.

Soccer Mom:  Soccer Mom shows up at practice after the death of her daughter.


Production Dates

  • Rehearsals: September 23 – October 31 (not held every day; schedule built around conflicts)
  • Tech Week: November 1 – November 7 (dark day TBD; NO 10 of 12)
  • Performances: November 8 and 9 at 7:30pm; November 10 at 3:00pm.
