Susan Reynders MLIS ’03 hired as Mount Prospect's executive library director

Susan Reynders MLIS ’03 has been hired as the executive director at the Mount Prospect Public Library. Prior to coming to Mount Prospect, she served as executive director at the Lincolnwood Public Library for seven years.



Susan, who grew up in south suburban Orland Park, said a library career was not her initial goal. After receiving her bachelor’s in English from Western Illinois University, she worked as an asset management consulting manager and spent more than 10 years with IBM as a senior implementation specialist.



Tiring of such work as taking inventories of technology hardware and software, she drifted into the library world. She received her master’s in library science from Dominican University, and her ultimate career path came into sharp focus.
