Elizeth Arguelles ’20 honored as a "Global Woman of Excellence"

Elizeth Arguelles ’20 has been recognized by U.S. Congressman Danny K. Davis as one of the “Top 20 Global Women of Excellence 2021.” She was honored at a March 7 ceremony in Naperville, Illinois. The theme of the event was Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 World.
Elizeth is an advocate for social responsibility and a Lead Organizer with Increase the Peace, an organization that develops young community leaders and promotes peace in Chicago. Increase the Peace was founded by fellow Dominican graduate Berto Aguayo ’16.
In June 2020, Elizeth was interviewed by WGN-TV after the Supreme Court rejected an order to rescind DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). Elizeth, a DACA recipient, said the SCOTUS decision is an important win.
