Ms. Garcia graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics, followed by a 10-month internship at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Professionally, Ms. Garcia has had a variety of experiences in both the inpatient and outpatient world: doctor's offices, a diabetes center, pediatric hospital, long-term care, various consulting experiences and a psychiatric hospital before she landed her current position at Dominican University.
Somewhere in the middle of all that, I spent ten years as a missionary in Mexico and also earned my M.S. in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Sports Nutrition.
Currently, Ms. Garcia wears at least 3 hats here as a Preceptor, Coordinating Preceptor (for outpatient and remote) and Academic Advisor for our students in the Coordinating Program.
She loves the variety that her job offers!
