Catherine Anelli

Catherine Anelli, RN MSN, Clinical Nurse Leader works as an Emergency Room Clinical Transitions Leader at Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst Illinois. Prior to the emergency room, she was a Clinical Transitions Leader on the medical floor at Elmhurst for a total of 10 years as a Clinical Transitions Leader. In her current role, Catherine has been chosen to start a three
month pilot program for her hospital. The name of the pilot program is “Critical Transitions and Transfer center, CTTC” and is for both Elmhurst and Edward Hospitals. The pilot program includes all inpatient transfers to other facilities, all transfers coming into the system from other facilities and all direct and incoming admission placements.

Catherine earned her Masters of Science in Nursing and Clinical Nurse Leader from Elmhurst University in 2014. She earned her Bachelors of Nursing from Lewis University in 2001 and Associates of Science in Nursing from Triton College in 1992. Catherine has been working in the nursing profession for a total of 29 years, 20 at Elmhurst Hospital and 9 years at Westlake Hospital formerly in Melrose Park, IL. Catherine’s nursing career started as a sta? nurse working on a telemetry unit, to a Team Leader, Case Manager, and finally a Clinical Transitions Leader. One of Catherine’s favorite part of nursing is being a preceptor for students all over Chicago studying for the Clinical Nurse Leader. Her powerful understanding of the Clinical Nurse Leader Role and how she connects with her students results in a successful learning experience for her students.

In addition to her successful nursing career, Catherine has been married for 10 years and has one stepson and two dogs. In her free time, Catherine loves spending time with her family and extended family including siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and parents. Catherine’s favorite thing to do is hosting holiday parties at her house for all her family and friends to come together and celebrate.
