Gisel Martinez (she/her/hers/ella) graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a concentration of Latinx Mental Health. She helps others navigate the complications of life by providing a warm and welcoming space for folks to express themselves authentically, co-create helpful strategies on how to balance multiple life responsibilities (including connections to resources that folks might need), and highlighting the strength and wisdoms folks already have within themselves and within their communities. She will be providing direct therapy services through the Wellness Center. Her role as a trauma therapist will center establishing or re-establishing a sense of safety that is congruent to the individual and the environment that they exist in. Together in therapy, she will co-create a plan with clients that attends to their needs and priorities while providing them techniques on how connect to themselves and their environment in a way that feels safe for them.
