Shari Schabowski serves as an adjunct lecturer within the Health, Wellness, and Medical Studies department of the Borra College of Health Sciences. Her continuing work as an emergency room physician brings a wealth of practical knowledge to share with her students. She is currently a senior attending physician at Cook County Hospital in the Department of Emergency Medicine and an attending physician at Rush Oak Park Hospital in their Emergency Department. Previously, she has worked in the emergency departments at Loretto Hospital, Westlake Hospital, West Suburban Hospital, Michael Reese Hospital, Annapolis Hospital, and Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. Prior to coming to Dominican, Dr. Schabowski taught at Rush Medical College and Malcolm X College. 

Dr. Schabowski serves as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She has contributed to a variety of professional book and periodical publications. She has also been an active lecturer presenting on an array of emergency medicine topics. Her current professional memberships include the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians and the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine. 

Dr. Schabowski earned her M.D. at Rush University and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital.
