Accessing your Email – Faculty and Staff
Dominican University (DU) faculty and staff have several options for accessing their email accounts (username@dom.edu.edu) with 50GB of storage: the Outlook desktop app (installed on your computer), the Outlook Web App, or through an email app on a smart phone or other mobile device.
Email is an official form of university communication. Faculty and staff are expected to check their DU email on a frequent and consistent basis in order to stay current with university communications.

Accessing your Email – Students
All currently enrolled DU students, both full-time and part-time, are offered a free Office 365 for Education account. This account includes an email address (username@my.dom.edu) with 50GB of storage, the ability to install the latest version of Office on personally-owned computers, and access to the online Office Web Apps from any computer or mobile device.

Email Account Deactivation
For safety and security purposes, email accounts are deactivated in certain scenarios. Prior to the deactivation of any account, Dominican University Information Technology (DU-IT) will contact the individual via email regarding the next steps in the process:
- Full-time faculty and staff accounts remain active until 4PM CST on the last day of employment. If you work beyond 4PM, reply to the account deactivation email you receive, and the time can be adjusted.
- Adjunct faculty accounts remain active until no courses are taught for one year.
- Student email accounts remain active until six months after graduation. If a student departs DU prior to graduation, the account remains active for six months after the end of their last term of enrollment.
Resource Email Accounts
Email resource accounts can be setup for use for a department, team, or project. A resource account functions like a regular employee email account for sending and receiving email. They can be accessed by their faculty or staff account owner as well as any number of account delegates. Contact the Support Center at supportcenter@dom.edu for more information.
