Work Side-by-Side With Talented Faculty

In small classes, you’ll immerse yourself in the subtleties of mathematics—examining everything from chaos and dynamics to differential equations and number theory. Our faculty will work closely with you to design a curriculum that’s an ideal match for your academic and professional goals. You can earn a license to teach or customize your studies with a concentration in actuarial science. You can pursue either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. The BS option requires one additional course in computer science, natural science, biology, chemistry or physics.

This major is powerful preparation for a career in business, actuarial science, finance, education, statistics, technology, engineering and the sciences.

The mathematics major best prepared me for the work I do today by granting me more knowledge in math itself. It allowed me to feel more confident in the different areas of mathematics so I can teach it at its fullest to my students. And my experiences as a peer tutor and teaching assistant in the Math Department allowed me to help those struggling with mathematics. This prepared me for the responsibilities of being a teacher."
