CAST PROFILES
Katherine Abel (#7) is so thrilled to be joining the team in The Wolves! Past credits include Fantine in Les Miserables (International Production -Italy), Anne de Bourgh in Miss Bennet (Buffalo Theatre Ensemble), Airness (Citadel), Margo in Bright Star (Red Barn Theatre), and Gloria in Boeing Boeing (Red Barn Theatre). Graduate of Oklahoma City University aka Kristen Chenoweth University with a BFA in acting. Thanks to all her supportive friends and family. For Ally, always.
Ashley-Marie Chávez (US #8 and #14) is a proud Mexican/Ecuadorian artist. A graduate from Northern Illinois University's BFA Acting program, some of her favorite credits include Gaby in Your Hands Are Like Mine, Dulcci in Dulcci with the Inicios: Chicago Latine Playwright Festival, Julie in On the Floor/In the Back with Stage Left Theater, Witch 1 in Macbeth with Hoosier Shakespeare Festival, Maria in Twelfth Night, and Freida in Franz Kafka's The Castle. Christine Do (US #2) is a freshman at Dominican University who is a Chemistry major as well as a Nutrition and Fashion Design minor. She’s done theater since middle school and this is her first time getting to understudy a role; she is just so glad to be a part of the cast!
Shelby Marie Edwards (US #7 and #25) is excited to join the cast of The Wolves. Chicago Theatre credits include Trifles (Steel Beam Theatre), Qualia (Subtext Studio Theatre), A Bronx Tale, The Wedding Singer (Surging Films and Theatrics); Holly’s Ivy, Lost Home Win Home (Lifeline Theatre’s Fillet of Solo Festival). Regional credits include Chicken & Biscuits (Virginia Repertory Theatre) and Little Women (Virginia Theatre Festival). Education: M.A., University of Chicago & B.A., Virginia Commonwealth University.
Rachel Esser (#11) is so excited to be a part of The Wolves for her senior year at DU! Past shows at DU include: Mamma Mia! (Lisa), A Midsummer Night's Cirque (Snout), and Retrospective Revue. While she is studying Theology and Psychology, Rachel is so grateful to all those who have allowed her to continue her theatre journey. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Abiola Fashawe (US #13) is a transfer sophomore at Dominican with a double major in Theater Arts and Communication and a double minor in Fashion Merchandising and Pre Law. They have been in Being Alive (Steph), A Yellow Sun (Daughter US). They would like to thank the cast and their friends for supporting them.
Zoi Neely (US #00 and #11) is a recent graduate from Western Illinois University, where she earned her BFA in Musical Theatre and Dance minor! This is their first professional role out of college, and they could not have asked for a better experience to start with! When Zoi is not on stage, you can find her giggling to herself, reading a good fantasy book, or studying astrology. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Emma Norville (#46) is delighted to have gotten to work alongside the talented, young artists at Dominican University! She graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory with a BFA in Acting and went through the Comedy Studies Program at Second City. Chicago credits include Collected Stories (Oil Lamp Theater), Richard III (Babes With Blades), and Wilcox Prom 2K13 (Eclectic Full Contact). Some of her favorite previous acting roles include Grandma Addams in The Addams Family, Olive in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Fighting Prawn in Peter and the Starcatcher, and Maddie in the independent film GetAWAY, streaming on Amazon Prime.
Emmanuella Otu (#00) is a freshman at Dominican University who is double majoring in Biology (Pre-Med) and Black World Studies and minoring in Fashion Design and is super duper excited to be part of this wonderful cast and crew and to perform this interesting story. The Wolves is truly a one-of-a-kind play, so buckle up buttercups and enjoy the show! <3 >.<
Eliza Santiago (#14) is a sophomore at Dominican University studying Theatre Arts and can't wait for everyone to see the show! Past shows include The Prom (Ensemble), Blithe Spirit (Ruth US and Edith US). They would like to thank their family, friends, and peers for always supporting her dreams and helping her accomplish her goals.
Sophie Smekens (#13) is so stoked to hit the turf in The Wolves! Recent Show credits: Anne in A Little Night Music (BrightSide), Maria in The Sound of Music (Riverbank), Les Miserables (Uptown), The Music Man (Metropolis), and Merrily We Roll Along (Blank). Khristian Summerall (#25) is in her fourth year at Dominican studying Theatre Arts and Business. She is very excited to be working on The Wolves! Past shows include: The Prom (Shelby), A Midsummer Night’s Cirque (Robin Starveling), Blithe Spirit (Mrs. Bradman). She would like to thank her mom and closest friends for always supporting her!
Emily Tucker (Soccer Mom) is a Dominican alum who is honored to be returning to the stage here. She is delighted to work with these wonderful young actors and crew, and is grateful to have the chance to work under Krista's beautiful direction again. Past shows at Dominican include: Twelfth Night (Viola), The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Mother-Grace Bradley), The Laramie Project (Ensemble). She is a proud Mom to two amazing boys who cheer her on with love, encouragement, and "break a leg" text messages. Thank y'all for coming out in support!
Rae Watkins (#2) is a sophomore at Dominican majoring in Chemistry. Past shows include: Spamalot (Lady of the Lake), Mary Poppins (Bert), and The Laramie Project (Aaron Kriefles and others). Rae hopes you kick back and enjoy the show!
Jenny Yaccino (#8) is a senior in her last semester at Dominican University. She is theater veteran who has been performing in various operettas, musicals, and plays since the age of six. Some of her notable roles are Scuttle the Seagull in The Little Mermaid, Essie in You Can’t Take It with You, Wiesel in the second ever all-girls production of Newsies, and much more. Jenny is also a former competition dancer, whose specialty is tap dance.
Mia Zuniga-Tovar (US #46) is a freshman at Dominican University, majoring in Fashion Design and minoring in Music. She is very excited to be understudying #46!
