Fall Mini Expo Puts Student Research on Display
Students showcased their research in science, math, nutrition, psychology and other disciplines during the URSCI Fall Mini Expo held last week in Parmer Hall.
Thirty-six displays were featured. The expo provided an opportunity for students to share projects they had worked on or completed over the summer, explained Dr. Irina Calin-Jageman, professor of biology and neuroscience and an organizer of the event.
Among the presentations were projects completed by incoming students who got a sneak peek at a DU education through the Star Summer Science Institute. This program includes hands-on experiments and mentorship in STEM subjects.
Following the poster session, a health careers panel featured recent DU graduates and grad students who have been admitted to physician assistant programs or medical school.
