In the News: School of Information Studies Alumna Named Rotary Club President

Melissa Gardner MLIS ‘04 has been named the new president of the Rotary Club of Palatine.

Gardner, who is assistant director of the Palatine Library District, will serve as president for the 2023-24 term. She has been a Rotarian since 2011.

In 2017, Gardner served as president of the Illinois Library Association. Earlier this year, she took part in a Q&A with the association, sharing advice for new library workers, her favorite authors, her proudest career moments and more.
