¡El Futuro Is Here! Conference Registration

July 29-31, 2025

In July 2025 Dominican University will host the 4th ¡El Futuro Is Here! Conference designed to create a space for rich theological conversation and reflection for campus ministers, theologians, student leaders, and other key collaborators. The El Futuro is Here Conference seeks to help colleges and universities celebrate the cultural practices of our Latinx students and see them as constitutive of a vibrant life en lo cotidiano (in the everyday).

We encourage colleges and universities to send teams of 3-5 people total—a combination of undergraduate students and those who serve them as department leads, ministers, faculty, staff, and administrators (mission officers, diversity officers, etc.) to engage in a series of conversations and experiences that...

  • Celebrate the social, cultural, and epistemological contributions of Latine communities,
  • Learn from nationally renowned experts in Hispanic theology and ministry, and
  • Pursue more culturally sustaining strategies for theological education and pastoral praxis.


Registration Cost

This conference has been generously underwritten by our donors and, as such, we are able to keep the registration costs at a reasonable rate.

Any institution may register a team (comprised of 1-5 participants) for a flat fee of $500.

  • This fee includes three nights of accommodation, all meals, and conference registration/materials.
  • Participants will be responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from Dominican University.
  • Conference activities will begin at 11 am on Tuesday, July 29. We will end at noon on Thursday, July 31.
  • You are welcome to arrive and check in on the evening of Monday, July 28 (that night of accommodations is included in your team's registration fee).
  • Transportation will be provided between the hotel and DU's campus each day.

Additional team members (6+) will cost $300 per participant.


Registration Process

Identify one point of contact or "team lead" from your institution. This representative should complete the online interest from below by April 1, 2025. This tells us that your institution is planning to be present. We ask that you estimate the number of students and faculty/staff/administrators who will be attending ($500 for up to five participants). One this has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email that outlines next steps, including recommendations for assembling an effective team.
