Community-Based Learning Opportunities
Students have the opportunity to expand their learning past the classroom by undergoing Community-Based Learning (CBL) opportunities. Students can provide support to their community while also enriching their language abilities. A number of organizations have partnered Dominican to provide such opportunities:
- Catholic Charities
- Erie Neighborhood House: ESL
- Erie Neighborhood House: Citizenship and Immigration
- Exodus World Service
- PASO (West Suburban Action Project)
- Taller de Jose
- Mujeres Latinas en Acción
Not only can they give back to their community, students can also receive CBL credit through study abroad and international service opportunities such as the Guatemala trip (STA 299) and Alternate Break Immersions which provides services and offerings to states across the board and in the U.S.
