Leadership Development
Leadership skills are highly valued in today’s workplace, and Dominican offers a variety of ways to develop those skills—and demonstrate them.
Emerging Leaders Program
This program engages first-year students in an outdoor adventure style retreat in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Students dive deep into their leadership strengths, vocation, and goals. Check out the video above to learn more
Schmitt Scholars
Supported by the Schmitt Foundation, this program provides scholarships for students with leadership potential to engage in community-based learning and leadership activities that dovetail with their interests.
Student Organization Leaders
Develop your leadership skills as an officer in one of our student organizations or club sports. You’ll learn how to work with a group, run meetings, manage your time and resolve differences. Officer training sessions provide guidance and support.
TORCH Orientation Leaders
Student orientation leaders play an important role in helping new students transition to Dominican. Orientation leaders are chosen in the spring for the following summer and fall.
Residence Life
Resident Assistants (RAs) live on each of the residence hall floors, serving as role models and contributing to a healthy environment through programming, discussions, policy enforcement and leadership opportunities.
Ministry Leadership
Students provide vital leadership and pastoral presence in the University Ministry Center, as well as around the university and in the wider community.
