An article in the Wednesday Journal discusses the possible sale of Dominican University's Priory Campus, located eight blocks from the Main Campus. The property was purchased in 2002 from the Dominican Friars. According to President Donna Carroll, the property is not used as much as was expected almost 20 years ago, due to a shift in graduate education to online classes and a decreasing need for residential student space. The university is studying several options for the property, including repurposing it or leasing it. Village of River Forest President Cathy Adduci has made it clear that the village would like to maintain the property's green space and does not plan on rezoning it to make it available for commercial or residential development.
