Michael Roman, in an article in the Village Free Press, discusses Dominican's announcement of spring break immersion programs in the adjoining suburb of Maywood. The program is part of a larger commitment to tackle racial and social injustice in the Village of River Forest--and on campus. President Donna Carroll discussed how leaving Dominican after 27 years is the right--but difficult--decision. She believes that the university is good hands and in good shape. "When you've built a place and do care about it like I do, that last great gift that you give the institution is a timely and smooth transition," she said.

Jill Albin-Hill, vice president of technology and operations, discusses how Dominican is using technology as part of its COVID-19 safety precautions and reporting. In addition to a mandatory mask-wearing policy, physical distancing guidelines, and the use of the #CampusClear app for self-monitoring and reporting symptoms, Dominican is employing a Cloud-based digital platform which leverages its existing Wi-Fi network and device-based detection and location-based analytics to help stop the spread of the virus.
