Jacky Neri Arias, Director of Student Experience and Inclusion, Accepted into National College Leadership Academy
Jacky Neri Arias, executive director of student experience and inclusion at Dominican University, has been accepted into a prestigious leadership program under the Council of Independent Colleges.
Arias was selected for the CIC’s Senior Leadership Academy (SLA). The academy is a year-long program allowing administrators in higher education to acquire knowledge, skills and experience in order for them to advance to a senior leadership position on campus.
Arias is one of just 40 individuals accepted into the SLA this year.
Dominican Resumes Partnership with English Language School, Aims to Grow International Student Enrollment
A school for English language learners from abroad is resuming its 30-year partnership with Dominican University.
ELS Educational Services Chicago will open its Language Center on the second floor of Dominican’s Lewis Hall annex in time to welcome approximately 64 students from Japan this September. The students will attend English classes taught by ELS instructors inside Lewis Hall.
ELS Chicago was previously located on Dominican’s Priory Campus. Classes were halted during the pandemic and the Priory Campus was sold in 2022.

The Dominican University community came together to celebrate Juneteenth and its message of freedom.
On June 15, nearly 200 people turned out on the Quad for the third annual event, which featured a barbecue, Soul & Smoke food truck, music from DJ Greenb, games, and the Juneteenth Traveling Museum, a pop-up, educational booth from the West Communities Juneteenth Collaborative.
