Alum Berto Aguayo Named American Red Cross Social Justice Hero
Berto Aguayo ’16 is receiving recognition from the American Red Cross for his outreach and advocacy efforts.
Aguayo was named a Social Justice Hero by the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago for his work with Increase the Peace, an organization that develops young leaders and promotes peace through community organizing and policy advocacy. Aguayo is the executive director of the organization and also provides mentorship to youth.
Dominican University to Dedicate New Cindy '82 and Kevin '79 Killips Welcome Center
Dominican University will host a dedication ceremony marking the opening of its new welcome center aimed at enhancing the prospective student experience.
The dedication of the Cindy '82 and Kevin '79 Killips Welcome Center will take place on Thursday, April 20 at 3:30 p.m. inside the main entrance of Lewis Hall.
Students Select Chemistry Lecturer Rahel Bokretsion for Excellence in Teaching Award
Chemistry lecturer Rahel Bokretsion is the recipient of the 2023 Mother Evelyn Murphy Excellence in Teaching Award from Dominican University.
The award recognizes full-time undergraduate faculty members for achievements in teaching, including their command and communication of subject matter, ability to intellectually stimulate students, and their availability to students for academic assistance, among other criteria.
Winners of the award are selected through student voting.
